This Privacy Policy explains what information the Surge Training app ("the app", "we") collects and how it is used. The app is published by John Portelli. By using the app you agree to this policy.
Surge Training has no account and no sign-in. Your workouts, settings and beep-test results are stored only on your device. We do not collect, sell, or share personal information. The one third party involved is Google AdMob, which serves the ads that keep the app free.
The app is free and supported by ads through Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as the Advertising Identifier / IDFA on iOS or the Advertising ID on Android), IP address, and ad-interaction data. This is handled by Google under its own privacy policy.
App Tracking Transparency (iOS). On first launch the app asks permission to track.
If you allow it, ads may be personalized using your advertising identifier; if you decline,
you'll still see ads, but non-personalized ones. You can change this anytime in
iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. On Android you can reset or delete your
Advertising ID in Settings → Privacy → Ads.
The beep test includes an optional "Measure a 20 m course" tool. If — and only if — you use it, the app may use your device's location (GPS) and motion / physical-activity sensors (step counter) to help you pace out 20 metres. This data is used on your device in the moment to show a distance; it is not stored, collected, or shared. If you don't use that tool, the app never requests these permissions.
We do not collect your name, email, phone number, contacts, photos, health records, or payment information. The app has no user accounts and contains no analytics SDK of our own.
The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Ads are configured for a general audience.
Because your data lives on your device, uninstalling the app deletes it. You can also clear individual items in the app's settings (for example, resetting your beep-test best).
Ad requests to Google use encrypted (HTTPS) connections. Your workouts and settings never leave your device.
We may update this policy; updates will be posted here with a new date.
